Finally a Home! - May 2011

After 8 or 9 trips to Cleveland and 60+ houses later, we finally found a home.   It's in Shaker Heights, has 4 bedrooms, an office and a partially finished basement spread among 4 levels.  The 4th bedroom and 3rd bathroom are by themselves on the third floor so we turned that into our guest suite.  Visitors welcome!  We got very lucky in that the house was built in 1953 in a neighborhood where most were built in the 1920s.  It has air conditioning too, thank God.  We'll have to do some renovating - nothing too major - but here are the "before" pics from the previous owner.  I'm sure one day I'll have "after" ones.

 This is now my office:
 This is now our master:
This is now Audrey's big girl room:
 Our guest room:
The finished side of the basement that we're not sure what to do with yet.  That's a full wet bar at the back left:

About This Blog

Laura began this blog with the intention of someday chronicling our children's lives since our family is spread out from east coast to west. We wanted a way for family to get up-to-date news. Since we had no children at the time, it became a blog that followed our (her) foodie thoughts. Cooking, eating out and drinking wine are huge hobbies of ours so it only seemed fitting. Now that children are here we're going to attempt to meld the two together. You will notice "Foodies" and "Family" links at the top left of the page underneath the header photos. Use these links to focus in on the entries you want to read and bypass the others. We hope you enjoy.
