Blizzard of 2011

Right now, along with the rest of the midwest, we're bracing for a huge snow storm.  We got a bit of snow last night that just made the roads slippery.  Now we're waiting for round 2 that promises to bring 9-14 inches of the white stuff.  (Chicago is set to get 24 inches and I'm jealous!)  On top of that, we're under a blizzard warning due to the wind and the temp is going to fall below zero.  FUN!  Actually, I'm kind of looking forward to it because it's been a pretty mild winter in terms of snow fall.  Last year, we broke a record with over 100 continuous days with snow on the ground.  It seemed like a storm came through once a week - which I got to enjoy from the comfort of my home since I was out on maternity leave.  This year, the temps have been as frigid as usual but not too much snow.  I'm expecting that school will be cancelled tomorrow which means daycare will also close.  It's pretty impossible to work from home with a baby running around but we'll see.  Maybe we'll actually take Audrey out in the snow (once the weather warms up a bit) so she can use her little snowsuit and boots!  :)  Stay warm everyone!

About This Blog

Laura began this blog with the intention of someday chronicling our children's lives since our family is spread out from east coast to west. We wanted a way for family to get up-to-date news. Since we had no children at the time, it became a blog that followed our (her) foodie thoughts. Cooking, eating out and drinking wine are huge hobbies of ours so it only seemed fitting. Now that children are here we're going to attempt to meld the two together. You will notice "Foodies" and "Family" links at the top left of the page underneath the header photos. Use these links to focus in on the entries you want to read and bypass the others. We hope you enjoy.
