Fall Family Weekend

Bill was off this weekend and we definitely made the most of it.  Friday night we picked up dinner from Audrey's favorite restaurant Chick-fil-A, or as she calls it, "the cow restaurant."  Saturday we headed out and went near downtown to try someplace new for breakfast.  It was fun to walk around a more urban part of town, pushing the strollers.  We felt very hip.  :)  After that, we walked over to the West Side Market which is a huge indoor food market.  We picked up some yummy goodies like pork belly, lamb chops and the best cupcakes we've ever had.  That night, we got a babysitter for the girls and went out to dinner for a date night!  We tried another new restaurant and were seated near the former Cleveland Brown's coach Eric Mangini.

After going out for breakfast on Sunday morning, we drove into the country to an apple orchard where they have Family Fun Fest - corn mazes, jungle gyms, pony rides, horse drawn wagons, pumpkins, other kid activities, and of course, apples.  Audrey and I went last year so I was excited to go again this year when Bill was able to join us.  Audrey had a lot of fun and I can see this becoming an annual event.
Last year she rode Cracker Jack, this year it was Gabby:
A super long slide. Luckily it was very slow:
After that first huge slide, she was scared to go down another one so I got to go too!

About This Blog

Laura began this blog with the intention of someday chronicling our children's lives since our family is spread out from east coast to west. We wanted a way for family to get up-to-date news. Since we had no children at the time, it became a blog that followed our (her) foodie thoughts. Cooking, eating out and drinking wine are huge hobbies of ours so it only seemed fitting. Now that children are here we're going to attempt to meld the two together. You will notice "Foodies" and "Family" links at the top left of the page underneath the header photos. Use these links to focus in on the entries you want to read and bypass the others. We hope you enjoy.
