Here We Go Again

Another illness has taken hold in this family.  Audrey started having a runny nose with coughing and sneezing this past weekend only to wake up on Monday with a fever.  She had a restless night on Sunday and I could hear how congested her chest was.  I was afraid that something was going on with her tonsils or ears again so I took her in the doctor's.  While the doctor was listening to her lungs, it was the first time Audrey had been still and not talking all morning and I could hear her wheezing.  The doctor said it was pretty bad and asked if she had wheezed before - she had not.  They gave her a round of nebulized Albuterol right there in the office and it worked really well.  She was such a trooper!  The machine was really loud but she didn't blink and eye and just kept on reading her book.

We are now the proud owners of a nebulizer and I have to give Audrey treatments every 4 hours through tomorrow.  After that, she's allowed to go back to daycare and the treatments can stretch to every 6 hours.  Our home version has a fish face mask that Audrey calls her snorkel! :)
