This Makes Me Teary Eyed

Here We Go Again

Another illness has taken hold in this family.  Audrey started having a runny nose with coughing and sneezing this past weekend only to wake up on Monday with a fever.  She had a restless night on Sunday and I could hear how congested her chest was.  I was afraid that something was going on with her tonsils or ears again so I took her in the doctor's.  While the doctor was listening to her lungs, it was the first time Audrey had been still and not talking all morning and I could hear her wheezing.  The doctor said it was pretty bad and asked if she had wheezed before - she had not.  They gave her a round of nebulized Albuterol right there in the office and it worked really well.  She was such a trooper!  The machine was really loud but she didn't blink and eye and just kept on reading her book.

We are now the proud owners of a nebulizer and I have to give Audrey treatments every 4 hours through tomorrow.  After that, she's allowed to go back to daycare and the treatments can stretch to every 6 hours.  Our home version has a fish face mask that Audrey calls her snorkel! :)

My New Favorite Necklace

A necklace I ordered just arrived today and I am SO excited!!!  I knew that once I had another child, I wanted something similar to this.  I'm thrilled with how it turned out.  Now I just need to buy the personalized Christmas stockings that I was holding out on buying until Vivian came along too!  :)

Finding Nemo

While Grandpa babysat Vivian,

we took Audrey to the movies for the first time this past weekend!  I am so thankful that Disney brought back one of her favorites - Finding Nemo.  She LOVES this movie and even has a Nemo stuffed animal that Grandpa gave her last Christmas.  We opted not to see the movie in 3D because we weren't sure Audrey would tolerate wearing the glasses but the ticket attendant gave her the special kid's sized glasses anyway.  Audrey kept calling them her sunglasses and putting them on so maybe we'll try the 3D version of Monster's, Inc. (another fave) when it's re-released to the theaters in December.  Anyway, the poor girl barely weighed enough to keep the theater seat in the open position so any movement during the movie and the chair threatened to collapse in on her.  Luckily she found a happy balance and was able to enjoy the movie while munching away on her popcorn.  I'm so mad that I didn't get a picture of that but I'll try to remember next time.

Scariest Words Ever

Here are words you never want to hear when you're upstairs at night, home alone with your daughters, hearing what you think are weird noises coming from downstairs (hoping it's just the cats) and one of the girls goes into the hallway only to turn right back around and say "There's someone on the stairs."  Fear shot through me but I just played it off like there was no way someone could be on our stairs and told Audrey to continue into her room to get a book (Mother of the Year, right here!).  She kept insisting there was someone and refused to go into her room alone - a total first for Miss I Can Do It Myself.  At this point I jumped up to see if someone was, in fact, coming up to kill us but thank God no one was there.  When I told Audrey this she said, "I heard someone on the stairs."  Well, that's a lot different than "there is."  Turns out that she was hearing Vivian's feet kicking the floor which did sound like someone on the stairs.  It took my nerves quite awhile to calm down from that one!  As for what those strange noises were, I'm still chalking it up to the cats.
